HostedPBXip.com, a leading online supplier of phone systems, VoIP Services, business VoIP service, Hosted VoIP PBX, Business PBX, and Call Center Solutions for small businesses in the US has announced an expanded collection of free support videos on its online phone system store. The videos will make it easier for businesses, IT departments and technicians to access expert help with programming, configuration, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of branded phone systems and equipment that may be difficult to obtain otherwise. HostedPBXip.com provides the videos as part of the company’s philosophy of providing real support for its customers. The company also offers a Free Technology Advice program, where businesses can call in toll-free to get advice about optimizing their phone system infrastructure to enable them cut costs and grow seamlessly.

The videos are displayed in a searchable library on the site, and the collection is updated on a regular basis. SharedBook Inc., the Reverse Publishing Platform provider, announced today that entries for the SharedBook Open API Challenge will close Wednesday, Oct. 31 at midnight. The contest will award the best extensions from third party applications to SharedBook in three categories: 1) social networking, 2) photo sharing, and 3) desktop applications or collaborative online communities.
Using the SharedBook open application programming interface (API) developers can flow content from any Web site – archived materials, database content, photographs and user-generated content, among other items – into a structured book product that can be purchased immediately, or personalized further.
Projects can be installed as plug-ins to existing online applications or implemented as standalone Web applications. API wrappers and components connecting clients to SharedBook’s Reverse Publishing Platform using Java, PHP and Python languages are available at http://www.sharedbook.com/dev/resources.html.
“Developers should know that they cannot lose by participating in the SharedBook Open API Challenge,” said Caroline Vanderlip, Chief Executive Officer, SharedBook Inc. “The contest is structured to reward all participants by offering a 10 percent share of any books sold as a result of their development efforts. Twenty percent is available to the winners in each category for any books sold as a result of their entry.”
Base pricing for the API books is set at $ 19.95 for softcover and $ 27.95 for hardcover. Therefore, the winning developers will receive a minimum of $ 3.99 each time a book sells as a result of their development. Winners will also receive their choice of an OpenMoko Neo 1973 mobile phone, an 8GB iPhone? or $ 500.
A panel of five will evaluate the entries based on their business utility, originality and technical elegance including Dion Almaer, Co-founder of Ajaxian.com, and Benny Schlesinger, Chief Technical Officer, Jacada, Ltd. (Nasdaq: JCDA).

Proforma Screening Solutions announces that it has recently released a free tool to help employers evaluate background screening companies for new or existing employment screening services. The tool, a selection matrix available in Word and PDF formats, provides an easy way to perform side by side comparisons of prospective service providers. The matrix outlines selection criteria across eight categories considered critical to the vendor selection process.
Decision makers can complete a sequence of checklists in order to compare Proforma Screening Solutions with two or more other vendors. The checklist includes criteria for assessing provider background, quality, services offered, customer support, technology, compliance, data security, and pricing. In total, the matrix includes 35 different factors across these categories.
Proforma Screening Solutions? inspiration for devising the selection matrix stemmed from the company?s growing sense that there exists a significant amount of confusion when it comes to hiring a background screening company. The lure of artificially low prices offered by some providers is appealing yet employers are tempered by fears of data security and compliance requirements, resulting in a complex decision making process.
?Since an employer?s choice of provider can have profound impact on the quality and compliance of their employment screening program, our goal in providing this selection matrix is to help employers hone in on what?s important to make a well-informed selection decision,? remarks David Lowers, President of Proforma Screening Solutions.
To view and download the background screening company selection matrix for free, visit http://www.proformascreening.com/lp/background-screening-companies-selection.php.

[SenchaCon 2011 Developer Conference]: Sencha, the leading provider of HTML5 frameworks and tools for desktop and mobile application developers, is expanding the range of technologies it offers to include services in the cloud. Sencha.io, now available in beta preview, is the first client-centric cloud technology designed specifically for JavaScript developers. When used in conjunction with Sencha frameworks, Sencha.io lets a developer focus on building client-side application logic while leveraging cloud services to make the application come to life.
Sencha.io enables application developers to build shared experiences that all run in the browser. Developers do not need to worry about writing server code, or dealing with hosting. Using the Sencha.io service and the SDK, application developers write their applications entirely in JavaScript, and Sencha.io utilizes cloud services as necessary. Using Sencha.io, developers simply write a client-side Sencha Touch application and use the power of the cloud to make their app come alive.
?To build a mobile experience that is multi-device, shared and enriched, a developer needs three things: frameworks, tools and cloud services,? said Aditya Bansod, senior director of product management at Sencha. ?Sencha.io extends the range of technologies we offer developers, giving them a way to quickly add data, messaging and features to their apps, and to then deploy them from the cloud for smooth and reliable execution on any device. In comparison to more traditional server-side platform-as-a-service solutions, we?ve simply eliminated the need for server-side code.?
Read more about the beta 1 release of Sencha.io on the Sencha blog.
Beta 1 of Sencha.io is available for developers at developer.sencha.io.
Sencha.io enables the creation of shared, multi-device Web experiences
The proliferation of social interaction throughout applications and websites means that the mobile Web is now an increasingly participatory experience. Developers no longer want to build applications that focus on the single user experience; instead they want to build applications that allow sharing between users, and for users to share their data between their devices. But designing and building apps that can do this, while simply managing disconnected state, multiple accounts, and synchronization is a daunting problem.
For example, even in a simple online poker game, each player needs identification (online/offline), role (sequence of play), and status (chips at hand and in play). Sencha.io dramatically simplifies the task of developing this class of Web application by providing four core services:
1. Login ? allows users to log in to applications using Facebook or Twitter accounts, or accounts specific to the application. Login makes it simple to retrieve user data and store information about an app?s users.
2. Data ? Sencha.io Data makes it simple to store data in the cloud with just one line of code in a Sencha Touch application. Data is synchronized across all devices and can be shared between users. Even when a mobile device is offline, applications can still read and write data and Sencha.io Data will transparently sync when the device rejoins the network.
3. Messages ? easy person-to-person and system-to-system messages is a critical service for a cloud. Sencha.io Messages enables users and applications to communicate easily with each other. For example: notifying a friend it?s their turn to play, or moving an in progress game from your mobile phone from your desktop.
4. Deployment ? even client applications need to serve code; Sencha.io Deployment makes it easy for developers to deploy their applications and optimize their application images for various mobile device screen sizes. Deployment includes a management portal that allows developers to manage versions of their applications and a fully sandboxed development environment for testing and collaboration.
?Now that users are constantly on the move from their desktop to mobile devices, we can provide the best app experience with Sencha.io Data and Sencha.io Deployment,? said Luc Stakenborg, owner and consultant at Oxida. ?Using Sencha.io Deployment to deliver high- and low-resolution images, and Sencha.io Data to share user settings across devices was essentially ?plug and play.? We didn’t need to develop a custom solution, so we were up and running in the cloud in a few hours.?

Among healthy adults, most of the vitamin C consumed in dietary supplements is washed out of the body within two hours. New beadlet technology slowly releases vitamin C from a 500-milligram capsule, 20 milligrams in the first hour, 300 milligrams in 1-4 hours, and the remaining 180 milligrams over an 8-hour period. Three capsules a day maintains adequate vitamin C levels throughout the day and night.
Albert, Szent-Gyorgi, a Romanian researcher, was honored with a Nobel Prize in 1937 for his discovery of vitamin C, which was later found to have a short half-life, about 30 minutes. This means vitamin C is quickly washed out of the body. Critics of vitamin C supplements have long maintained high-dose vitamin C creates nothing more than expensive urine. The new beadlet technology now overcomes this drawback.
Vitamin C is an essential nutrient required for collagen formation, wound repair, arterial health, reduction of histamine, healthy gall bladder and enhanced immunity.
Early hunter-gatherers consumed about 600 milligrams of vitamin C per day. On average, Americans today consume only 110 milligrams of vitamin C from their diet
Compare this to what most animals synthesize on their own, as much as 13,000 milligrams a day! Humans once synthesized their own vitamin C long ago but a genetic mutation now leaves Homo sapiens completely dependent upon their diet for vitamin C.
Guinea pigs, who are in the same predicament as humans because they don?t make vitamin C in their own body as most other animals do, must fortify their diet with the human equivalency of 800 milligrams of vitamin C or they will develop artery problems. This runs contrary to what humans are told, that they only need 60 milligrams of vitamin C per day to prevent scurvy.
Many millions of Americans are deficient in vitamin C. A recent study shows that three times greater concentration of vitamin C can be achieved through oral dosing than previously thought possible.
The human body exerts dynamic control over vitamin C, retaining more when it is needed, such as during illness or inflammation.

WorkSimple (http://www.getworksimple.com), the company that was the first to make goals social and performance results-driven, is now the first to make performance communication part of the stream. Today, WorkSimple announced its latest release — which includes Agile Goals and Activity Stream — in which performance management takes advantage of the social features made common by consumer applications: Facebook-, Linkedin-, and Twitter-like status updates, followings, and activities in real-time.
There is an aggressive shift in the adoption of enterprise software today. Applications adopted by the employee-base leverage social and collaborative features: CRM such as Salesforce?s Chatter, project management such as Basecamp, file sharing such as Box.net, and communication such as Yammer.
However, performance management players today are stuck in a top-down, closed system that does not reflect what employees need and how they work. According to Reuters, four out of five U.S. workers are dissatisfied with performance reviews and would like to see them to better reflect their work. WorkSimple?s social technology enables co-workers to collaborate around goals and follow people, teams, or the entire company in a way that is familiar to them.
?The next generation of enterprise software will be employee-chosen and employee-driven,? said Ben Moore, CTO and co-founder of WorkSimple. ?Employees are already picking their CRM and they are choosing Salesforce. In the future, employees will also choose their performance management platform, and it won?t be the larger HR/talent management vendors out there today. They will select a employee-centered platform like WorkSimple.?
Many employees struggle to connect the workforce to what truly matters — a vision, direction, mission, and brand. Now employers have a collaborative way of engaging the entire workforce regardless of their demographic, location, or role. Similar to Facebook and LinkedIn, WorkSimple is delivering goals and goal information (updates, comments, feedback, recognition) directly to the user in the application and through daily digests and notifications.
With the introduction of agile goals and a real-time stream, WorkSimple elevates performance management and helps workers keep their goals aligned with the team?s priorities, visualize goals and performance across the activity stream, and strengthen the gaps in feedback between colleagues and managers. This is a groundbreaking shift in the employee performance industry that will transform work and appraisal reviews.
?We?ve built WorkSimple with the employee in mind from the ground up to give teams and businesses the tools they need to drive engagement in their enterprise,? said Morgan Norman, CEO and co-founder of WorkSimple. ?Organizations are quickly realizing that WorkSimple is enabling them to focus on innovation and creating business value in a way that traditional HR software doesn?t do.?

C-Search today announced the release of C-Search and C-Search for Domino.Doc R1.1. – C-Search brings for the first time web crawling techniques to the Domino domain allowing organizations to build a fast and lightweight index of quality materials. Unlike web crawlers however, C-Search has built in design and location awareness to ensure users are presented with meaningful results and to guarantee that users are always routed to the nearest instance of information from the search results.
Core product features include:
Ability to search any number of databases at once, including multiple Domino.Doc libraries across multiple servers.
User-friendly search supporting the browser and Notes Client.
Ability to sort and refine results.
Launch documents, attachments and open databases from search results.
Step through document summaries from search results without losing focus on result set.
User favorites feature with built in notifications.
Full respect for document security. Users only see the documents they have rights to see.
Built in news reader.
New features offered in R1.1 include:
Pass through support. Other systems can now make use of the C-Search index as a key source of Domino information. C-Search will automatically detect external referrers and route users through to source materials bypassing the C-Search summary pages.
Mobile support. Users can now search the index off line using the Notes client or a web browser.
Improved setup facility including a region wizard to allow C-Search to automatically detect regional information held in the Domino directory.
Improved support for Netscape.
C-Search is ideal for medium and large organizations with multiple servers but its user-friendly interface is equally suitable for smaller environments. Being a distributed index, C-Search brings awareness of information to users at all locations regardless of where the source materials actually reside.
Index contents can be configured to meet the specific needs of each business. Indexing responsibilities can be shared amongst any number of servers removing the need to invest in a central index server.
C-Search products will run on any Domino server R5.01 or later regardless of platform and are licensed to an organization, not by server. This makes C-Search the most cost effective way of searching the Domino domain.

C-Search Limited is an IBM Advanced Business Partner specializing in document management and search solutions. C-Search has been awarded the Runs with Lotus Domino accreditation by IBM.
